Homey
Has many fine photos. This is a sample, more are on the way.
I became sick on that trip, which hadn't happened to me before. That is Montserrat in the distance, taken by Todd on a different trip. I was probably restraining chunder while taking the shot of the wall of water and the shark slayer here.
Homey photos, I am posting a couple here.

Renovations
Were being accomplished at three and four in the morning and straight through until I left for work today. That is a bad neighbor, the Landlord apologized, but wow, something bad was up, the Landlord wasn't the one doing it, he must have had other complaints.
They ruined the cable when they rigged the new electric, and the cable tech mentioned the contractor rudeness, which I saw as well. "Crush Their cables who cares..." must have been in order. I really really really had to refrain from going upstairs at four a.m., I know it would have ended badly. I have yet to see them face to face, but the entire "WTF Ahole" saga is inevitable.
The cable is running, and the internets are back. Will begin posting soon soon soon. Attention is a fickle beast, you may have all stopped looking. In which case I can really post the good stuff.

Zippy New Computer
It's sleek and small and very handy.
It's just not mine, and my "series of tubes" is not running, Comcast is scheduling an appointment for the modem, while discouraging me from taking the modem in to the counter to check. So time is set and I will take it into the counter in the interem.
The customer service people have been polite, so I can't harp on that.
This is affecting this silly pointless site greatly, I encourage you all to take up book reading and vigilantism.

Pequot
Book sale is on now. It was fun as always. I did not get to volunteer this year unfortunately. Rich people read books, if only I had solidified that correlation for myself.
Ellen Terry Photo
I recieved responses on the date this photo was taken more off the computer than on but all were silly at best. I am no stranger to dumb jokes so I will leave it at that. I found it remarkable as it was taken in the year 1864. It seemed startling to see such a human image from such a distance, it is posed but somehow almost erases time.
Now to punish all I will post more photos.

"Some Say"
Too fearful to state the obvious USA Today hides behind a trumped up "debate."
I suppose I am just surprised it was published at any level.
Via Boortz
Boortz also has "Blood Pool" pillow link.

In what year
was this photo taken? I will not answer until five people guess.
Hint: although time travellers indeed walk amongst us, this photo was taken in a year prior to 2007 A.D.

Slaid Cleaves
He was a pleasure to hear, it was an odd NPR saturated crowd for those songs, but they brought him in so that's alright!!
Boy is timing everything. Holy cats...rats...crap. Falling on today couldn't have been any worse.
This was stage/Slaid right. Which I suppose would suggest, but I should check a map, that Boston was quite a ways off his left shoulder and Maine was angled closer to his left ear. I suppose that's not worth checking if it's not worth writing, but I will all the same.

Pirates...
Knocked Up Shrek. Does our foul culture know any limits? Oh, and how much for a matinee, there is nothing to see this year?
Not Japanese Earthquake
Noticed this link from a New Haven Colleseum implosion link that Adam sent. But the rising sun may be beaming more than happy rays into Japan's, and the Pacific's, day.
Yes, irony. And yes, I have a baseball bat signed by Paul Tibbets, and as of several years ago he had a very firm handshake.

Homer Simpson
Truly an icon for the ages. Article ripe for jokes but none worth typing as all are so blatantly apparent.
Journalists
Instapundit links to the story of Norman Borlaug recieving a medal. My contempt for the "fourth estate" is no secret, (bonus Oscar Wilde quote at the end of that link.)

Diphtheria
Reading "The Cruelest Miles:The Heroic Story of Dogs and Men in a Race Against an Epidemic"
and it is very interesting. Diphtheria sounds like something out of science fiction, "The membrane that forms over the tonsils can also move deeper into the throat and block the airway." Yuck.
Missouri's Governor's mansion is haunted by a girl taken by Diphtheria. The Mark Twain cave is also rather gruesome.
Diphtheria heroes were sled dogs but also horses.

Comcast Sucks
No internets at home at the moment. Or at work. Pet sitting at a spot with wifi and will post later though.
